Fava ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal cooking journal. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What We Collect
- Account information: Email address and display name when you sign up.
- Cooking data: Photos, dish names, descriptions, recipes, tags, and genres you log.
- Social data: Follow relationships, likes ("foodos"), and comments you create.
- Device information: Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications), device type, and app version for crash reporting.
How We Use Your Data
- Display your cooking feed and profile to you and your followers.
- Send push notifications for likes, comments, and new cooks from people you follow.
- Improve app stability via anonymous crash reports (Sentry).
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database and file storage) hosted in the EU. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage. All connections use HTTPS encryption.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Authentication, database, and file storage.
- Expo: Push notification delivery.
- Sentry: Crash and error reporting.
- PostHog: Anonymous usage analytics (no personal data).
Your Rights
- Access: View all your data in the app (profile, cooks, saved recipes).
- Delete: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings. This is permanent and immediate.
- Export: Contact us to request a data export.
Children
Fava is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
